Only a few kilometres away from Saint-Tropez, you will discover a more exclusive and unspoilt side of the French Riviera among little villages nestled between the sea and vineyards.
You could start your trip from Port Grimaud, “the Venice of the French Riviera”. Built in the 1960s according to a visionary project by architect François Spoerry, this town on the water fascinates visitors with its canals, bridges and colourful houses recalling ancient fishing villages. Coming from Pont de la Poterne, we recommend stopping in one of the boulangeries for a breakfast with freshly baked pain au chocolat. Then you can hire a small electric boat to see the village from the water or go for a stroll along the pier to see moored boats, vintage street lamps and flowers.
In the afternoon you can head towards Gassin, a small medieval village overlooking the Gulf of Saint-Tropez offering one of the most beautiful views of the peninsula: on one side, the blue waters of the Mediterranean sea, and on the other side, the green landscapes of the Massif des Maures and vineyards.
The last stop of this tour is Ramatuelle, a Provençal village cosily nestled against a hill. Ochre houses, steps adorned with flowers, small squares where you can find shelter from the sun and artisan workshops. At sunset, you can enjoy a pleasant meal at one of its wonderful restaurants while sipping a glass of the famous Provençal rosé wine.
And if you have more free time, why not treat yourself to a day on the beach. Plage de l’Escalet is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches on the Gulf of Saint-Tropez: crystal-clear waters, wind-faceted rocks and small bays accessible on foot from the coast.
If you prefer glamour, you can opt for the Plage de Pampelonne, a long promenade which is a symbol of the French Riviera. More than four kilometres and a half of white sand with iconic beach clubs and restaurants right on the sea.
